Amitriptyline helps to block reuptake neurotransmitter to presynaptic vesicle so chances
of binding of the neurotransmitter to postsynaptic vesicle are increasing.
Due to more binding of the neurotransmitter to postsynaptic vesicle neuronal signal is pass
more which cause less chance of depression.

through compensatory changes in receptor function and prolonged postsynaptic receptor
blockade.
